Yihang Zhu is a professor at YMSC, Tsinghua University. He got his PhD from Harvard and worked at Columbia and Maryland before joining Tsinghua. His research interest is in Number theory and automorphic representations.
Abstract
I will give a mild introduction to some key ideas in the Langlands program, and provide some motivations from historical developments dating back to Gauss. If time allows, I will also try to briefly explain some of the most recent achievements in the subject.
