Face to Face with Master | Collision of Thoughts from The Youth and Scientists

On July 22, a group of teenagers with scientific dreams entered Tsinghua University to participate in the special activity of the International Conference of Basic Science —— "Face to Face with Master". In this activity full of scientific ideas and an innovative atmosphere, nearly 200 teachers and students talked and communicated with many international top masters in the field of mathematics and physics, and had a collision between young people and science masters.

At the opening of the event, the president of the International Conference of Basic Science excited the students. Yau said that through communication and interaction, young people are expected to see the beauty of science and the truth of science. Academician Shing-Tung Yau's speech deeply encouraged the students, and further strengthened their pursuit of basic science and their determination to realize their scientific dreams.

Through this activity, they can have a clearer understanding of science, draw inspiration from it, stimulate their innovative thinking, and set up higher goals and pursuits.

At the end of the activity, Academician Shing-Tung Yau presented his autobiography —— My Geometric Life. This book tells the inspirational story of how Mr.Yau who grew up into a top mathematician. It has extraordinary significance for teenagers and represents Mr.Yau's attention and expectation for teenagers, encouraging them to take a solid step on the road of future science.

The first international conference on basic science youth series of activities by the Children & Youth Science Center of China Association of China Association for Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, Shing-Tung Yau Mathematical Science Center, Beijing Association for Science and Technology, Beijing Science Center, aims to build interaction platform for teenagers, feel the unique charm of scientific research, for their future road inject more confidence and power, will have a profound impact on the growth and development of teenagers.

The "Face to Face with Master" activity held on July 22 is one of the series of youth activities held during the first International Conference of Basic Science. To let more young people have the opportunity to feel the master style and scientific charm, the event was held in the way of on-site participation and online live broadcasts. A total of 10 media platforms such as Central Video conducted live broadcasts, and the total number of viewers exceeded 210,000.
