On May 27th, 26 teachers and students of University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) (hereinafter referred to as "Hua Class") visited Tsinghua University and held a mathematics seminar with teachers and students of Qiuzhen College of Tsinghua University in classroom A112 of the Science Building. The seminar was hosted by Professor Chen Zhijie, vice president of Qiuzhen College. Professor Sheng Mao, Professor Ma Jie, Professor Yang Di and Professor Wan Hongyan attended the seminar. Mr.Shing-Tung Yau, president of Qiuzhen College, was very concerned about this exchange activity. He specially came to the seminar to welcome the teachers and students of University of Science and Technology of China, and took group photos with the teachers and students present.

Professor Ma Jie introduced the training of students in the Hua class of USTC. It was jointly established in 2009 by the University of Science and Technology of China and the Institute of Mathematics and Systems Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, using the advantages of both sides to jointly cultivate world-class mathematical elite talents. Since the first undergraduate talent class in 2009, the Hua class has been continuously exploring and optimizing the talent training programs, such as optimizing the course plan, setting up special reports of "Hua Luogeng Discussion Class", and regularly organizing academic exchange meetings for students. Students of Hua class have performed well in important competitions such as "Qiu Chengtong's College Student Mathematics Competition" and "The Chinese Mathematics Competitions".

Professor Chen Zhijie introduced the talent training of Qiuzhen College. At present, The College has three talent training programs, namely, "Qiu Chengtong Mathematics Science Leading Talent Training Program", "Qiu Chengtong Mathematics Talent Class" of bachelor's degree program and doctoral student training program. The college implements the international training mode of top talents, pays attention to the cross-training of talents, establishes a multi-dimensional academic support system, and emphasizes the training of "generalists", and offers a variety of characteristic courses. At the same time, the College has also carried out special activities such as "Tsinghua Open Issues Seminar (TOPS)", "Truth-seeking Tour Lecture" and "Chinese Historical and Cultural Practice Study Tour", actively setting up a broad stage for students to grow up.

In the academic report part, the Hua class students Zhu Haixin, Li Xuanyu, Ye Xingchen respectively did presentations for the operator of the elliptic, small cone and area minimizer of singularity, and the geometric group theory and the growth rate. Qiuzhen College Yingcai class students Xu Fulin, Fu Yixuan, Li Ximing, respectively made the reports of the themes on Kawamata-Morrison cone conjecture introduction, local homology conjecture in commutative algebra, energy critical defocus Schrodinger equation scattering problem.

After listening to the report, the teachers made comments and gave suggestions, while the students actively raised questions and discussed with each other. The communication atmosphere was harmonious and warm. This seminar provided a valuable opportunity for the teachers and students of the two universities to strengthen the interaction and understanding, and also brought some new inspiration to everyone on the road of study and scientific research. After the seminar, Qiuzhen College organized and led the teachers and students of USTC to visit the History Museum of Tsinghua University.
