On October 24th, 2024, the Qiuzhen College of Tsinghua University held signing ceremonies for agreements on the exchanges and cooperation with related faculties of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the University of Hong Kong (HKU), respectively. Dean of the Qiuzhen College Shing-Tung Yau, Associate Deans Xiaofang Wang and Yitwah Cheung, and certain representatives of teachers and students from Qiuzhen College went to Hong Kong to attend the signing ceremonies.
On the morning of October 24th, the signing ceremony between Qiuzhen College and the CUHK was held in T. Y. Wong Hall of the CUHK. At the ceremony, Mr. Shing-Tung Yau and Professor Wai-yin Poon, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the CUHK, jointly signed the Cooperation Agreement between the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Qiuzhen College of Tsinghua University. The agreement focuses on the exchanges and cooperation on basic mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics and artificial intelligence, among other fields. Attendants of the signing ceremony from the CUHK include Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of the CUHK; Professor Chunshan Song, Dean of the Faculty of Science; and representatives of the Faculty of Engineering.

On the afternoon of October 24th, Mr. Shing-Tung Yau led the teachers and students of Qiuzhen College to attend the inauguration ceremony of the School of Computing and Data Science of the HKU, and signed with Professor Yi Ma, Inaugural Director of the school, the Agreement on Exchanges and Cooperation between the School of Computing and Data Science of the HKU and the Qiuzhen College of Tsinghua University. The agreement focuses on the in-depth cooperation on talent training, scientific research and teacher exchanges on the artificial intelligence and big data as well as other fields. Attendants of the signing ceremony also include Dong Sun, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry; and Xiang Zhang, President of the HKU.

According to the cooperation agreements, both parties will select about five undergraduate or graduate students each year as exchange students to study and conduct scientific research for one semester or one academic year. In addition, teachers and exchange students from both parties are encouraged to participate in interdisciplinary joint research projects.
The signing ceremonies not only mark a milestone for the close collaboration between the Qiuzhen College with related faculties of the HKU and the CUHK in the fields of talent training, cooperation on scientific research, and exchanges of teachers, but also charter a new course for the Qiuzhen College to work with Hong Kong universities to jointly promote the development of national mathematical sciences, artificial intelligence and other fields, so as to make greater contributions to serving national strategies and facilitating social progress.
