On March 26, internationally renowned mathematician, Fields Medal winner, Tsinghua University Chair Professor and dean of the Qiuzhen college, Shing-Tung Yau, made a donation to Tsinghua University to set up the "Chun-Ying Yau Fund" and "Ruo-Lin Liang Fund",which are named after his parents. This donation is a continuation of his parents' wish to inspire more young people to make real contributions to learning, the nation, and human civilization. Yong Qiu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tsinghua University and Chairman of the Education Foundation expressed that the university attaches great importance to and will fully support the construction and development of Qiuzhen college. It is believed that this donation will inspire more young students to pursue genuine learning and skills practicing, and to take up the responsibility for the construction of a strong nation and national rejuvenation.

Since the establishment of the Qiuzhen college, we have witnessed Mr. Shing-Tung Yau's dedication to the development of the college. He has devoted almost all of his time and energy to the development of talents in the academy, and even on weekends and holidays, he often arranges activities such as discussion classes and practical tours in Chinese history. Today, we are even more fortunate to witness Mr. Yau's donation to Qiuzhen college.
