Since its establishment in 2021, Qiuzhen Academy has always adhered to the original intention of educating people, with the sole mission goal of cultivating leading mathematics talents in China. In the process of training, we adhere to the implementation of the concept of international talent training, not only to attract international students to Qiuzhen and study, but also to support the overseas exchange of local students, and actively explore the joint training mode with foreign universities. As the "second classroom" for the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality, social practice has always provided students with opportunities to understand and serve the society. The College adheres to the concept of "educating people by practicing", and guides and supports students to participate in social practice in an all-round way. In the practical journey of "receiving education, growing talents, and making contributions", Qiuzhen students not only improved their professional cognition, but also cultivated their feelings for their family and country and sense of social responsibility.
At the beginning of 2024,Qiuzhen College sent two social practice teams, "Seeking the Source of Truth" and "Seeking Truth and Reaching Far", to the United Kingdom and the United States to carry out overseas social practice research. From January to February, the two teams visited a number of well-known universities in the United Kingdom and the United States, and through in-depth interviews, seminars, salons, audits and other forms of learning and exchanges, they not only improved their professional knowledge and broadened their international vision, but also deepened their understanding of the educational culture of the two countries and the cultivation of higher education and local mathematics talents.
"Seeking the Source of Truth"
From January 19th to February 2nd, 8 undergraduates in "Seeking the Source of Truth" led by Professor Yu Qiu and counselors Zhe Wang and Yucheng Zhang of the Shing-Tung Yau Center for Mathematical Sciences of Tsinghua University went to the United Kingdom to carry out practical research, and conducted full exchanges with teachers and students majoring in mathematics from five famous universities in the United Kingdom, including Imperial College London, King's College London, Cambridge University, Oxford University and University of Bath, in four cities including London, Cambridge, Oxford and Bath. Through professor interviews, university visits, course audits, cultural exchanges, alumni discussions, etc., I deeply learned the characteristics of the construction of mathematics in the UK and felt the academic atmosphere of British universities. At the same time, through visiting the colleges of Cambridge University and Oxford University, I learned about the tradition of the British college system, and thought about the similarities and differences between the college systems of the two countries and the advantages of each.

"Seeking Truth and Reaching Far"
From February 12th to February 22nd, 10 undergraduate students in "Seeking Truth and Reaching Far" led by Yi Huang, assistant professor of Shing-Tung Yau Center for Mathematical Sciences of Tsinghua University, and Fenghe Wang, counselor, went to Seattle, Boston, and New York in the United States to carry out social practice research, visited 7 universities including Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and University of Washington, visited high-tech and alumni companies such as Google and Guanzheng Capital, communicated with peers, asked teachers for advice, and took to the streets to carry out field research. While understanding the similarities and differences in the construction of mathematics disciplines in the two countries and experiencing the different higher education cultures, they also had a deeper understanding of the national conditions of the United States and the current Sino-US relations, and took an important step in the exchanges between Qiuzhen College and American college students.

Qiuzhen College
As the first two overseas practice teams sent by Qiuzhen college since its establishment, with the support of the college, the students have made full preparations, formulated visit plans according to different places to visit, wrote interview outlines, and independently contacted overseas university professors and Chinese students, so as to exercise their own abilities and improve their comprehensive quality in the preparatory work. At the same time, the members of the detachment have conducted extensive study and comparative research on their own mathematics majors, not only communicated with the top professors in their own interests, but also experienced the training mode of university education in the United Kingdom and the United States, and improved their global competency and broadened their international vision.
In response to the school's global strategy and the development task of cultivating top-notch innovative talents with "global competence", as well as the practical implementation of the educational requirements of "simultaneous development of five educations", Qiuzhen College carried out students' overseas social practice for the first time, marking a solid step on the road of international talent cultivation and laying the foundation for further expanding the exchange of international mathematics talents at different levels. In this practice, the students visited universities and scientific research institutions in the two countries, carried out in-depth exchanges and visits between teachers and students, broadened their international vision, improved their comprehensive ability, enhanced their cultural self-confidence, and achieved "telling Chinese stories and spreading Chinese voices".Qiuzhen College will continue to implement the concept of cultivating international talents with truth-seeking characteristics, while attracting outstanding international students to study in the college, support students to carry out overseas exchanges, and continue to explore foreign joint doctoral programs, write a truth-seeking chapter in the journey of responding to the university's global strategy, improving its openness and international school-running level, and provide truth-seeking answers to the proposition of the times for cultivating outstanding talents in the field of international mathematics.
