On the afternoon of February 24, 2024, Qiuzhen College welcomed the 2024Yau Mathematicals Sciences Leaders Program preparatory students. After the opening ceremony of the preparatory class, a mental health workshop for parents of the 2024 Yau Mathematicals Sciences Leaders Program preparatory students was held in the East Lecture Hall. The workshop was delivered by Mr. Huang Zhen, the academic leader of the Positive Psychology Research Center of the School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University and the head of the Mathematics Sincerity Studio of Qiuzhen Academy, and more than 70 parents of the 2024 Yau Mathematicals Sciences Leaders Program preparatory students participated in the discussion on the application of positive psychology in the whole-person development of students. Mr. Angxiu Ni, the leader of the student group of Qiuzhen College, presided over the workshop. On behalf of the College, Mr. Aungxiu Ni extended a warm welcome to the parents of the 2024 Yau Mathematicals Sciences Leaders Program preparatory students who came to the workshop. He introduced to the parents the purpose and development of the Mathematics and Sincerity Workshop of Qiuzhen Academy, as well as the important role of the student counselor team in the mental health work of students. He emphasized the importance of psychological work in the development of students, and encouraged parents to pay attention to the psychological conditions of students.

Teacher Zhen Huang gave a lecture on "The Whole Person Development of Mathematics Gifted Students" to the parents of the 2024 Yau Mathematicals Sciences Leaders Program preparatory students. In the lecture, she introduced the core concepts of positive psychology and its application in education, especially how to help students build a growth mindset and face challenges in learning and life. She helps parents understand the growth stage of their students and the guidance and support they need by analyzing the characteristics of gifted students in mathematics, introducing the basic theories of positive psychology, and analyzing key cases. She emphasized the critical role of parents in their children's education process and how to support their development more effectively by understanding their psychological characteristics. During the explanation, Ms. Huang Zhen used small games to interact with parents, creating an interactive and harmonious environment, and parents also realized the importance of growth mindset.

In the interactive exchange session, Ms. Zhen Huang gave professional answers and suggestions to parents on how to discover children's psychological problems and how to become a growth-minded parent. This activity not only deepened parents' understanding of the application of positive psychology in education, but also provided effective suggestions for how parents and schools can better cooperate and jointly promote the whole-person development of students.
