Mr.Yau delivered the opening speech. He said that this was the second time for the tour lecture to come to Qufu, Shandong Province, hoping to lead the students to appreciate the Qilu culture and pay their respects to Master Confucius and Mencius. "Thousand years of rites and music returned to the East Lu, the ancient intellectuals all worship the King", Yau believed that Confucius was a great thinker, statesman, and educator in Chinese history, and was respected as the "supreme holy teacher" by later generations. The Confucianism and culture founded by him had a profound influence on China and even the world.
Coming here with the teachers and students of Qiuzhen College, I hope to feel and experience the profound and time-honored Chinese culture, to get inspiration, and to pursue the truth on the road of science. Yau stressed that our learning is to uphold the traditional culture, set lofty aspirations, let first-class academics take root and sprout in China, and live up to the high expectations of the country.

Li Yizhou, a 2021 student of the Mathematics Leadership Program of Qiuzhen College, gave a report on the history of mathematics entitled "Euler's Life and his contribution to Analysis". In the report, he first briefly introduced the life of Euler and then introduced Euler's formula in mathematical analysis and Euler's solution to Basel problems. Euler was the central figure in mathematics in the 18th century, and his life was a life of endless struggle for the development of mathematics. In the lecture, Li Yizhou shared that, in the process of academic growth, the teacher Bernoulli's guidance, made his progress quickly, less walking a lot of detours, it is true college dean Mr.Yau has been encouraging students to consult the master, and constantly to the students to create such a learning environment.

After the lecture, Professor Yang Charming was invited to give a lecture on Confucian culture with the theme of "Traditional Gentleman's Way and Cultural China", which mainly introduced the Chinese people's feelings of home and country and the way a gentleman described in the Analects of Confucius. He said that if Chinese culture is compared to a growing tree, then Confucian culture is its backbone. The Confucian culture has shaped the values and ways of thinking of the Chinese people. To understand the Chinese culture, it is necessary to understand the Confucian culture. The Confucian culture advocates the personality of the gentleman, and the word "gentleman" appeared 107 times in the Analects of Confucius. The gentleman is a symbol of noble moral character and is the unique spiritual symbol of the Chinese nation. Professor Yang Chaoming encouraged the young students to strengthen their understanding of traditional culture and thoughts, set up lofty aspirations, dare to undertake missions and responsibilities, develop a broad mind of magnanimity and benevolence, and strive to achieve a gentlemanly personality.

After listening to the lecture, the students interacted with Mr.Yau on how to learn mathematics well, the role of mathematics in cutting-edge theoretical physics research, Mr.Yau's experience with scientific research work, and suggestions for students' future scientific research. Mr.Yau answered the questions one by one, and presented the souvenirs of the college and group photos to the students, encouraging them to be willing to ask questions and be good at asking questions in the learning process, to cultivate the ability of positive thinking and inquiry.
