Abstract:

Conformal field theory, describing systems with scaling symmetry, plays a crucial role throughout physics. In this presentation I will describe how to simulate quantum field theories, including conformal field theories, with quantum computers. As I will explain, the main challenge is to find a meaningful way to compare the discrete with the continuum.

YMSC-BIMSA Quantum Information Seminar | Error-correcting Codes for Quantum Simulation of Fermions

AbstractThis talk focuses on the simulation of fermionic systems on arbitrary graphs, including two-dimensional lattices. We start by examining the one-dimensional Jordan-Wigner transformation and its expansion to two-dimensional exact bosonization. This method is crucial for simulating fermions using emergent fermions in the ℤ2 toric code. We then discuss how fermionic observables and Pauli m...

[YMSC-BIMSA Quantum Information Seminar] Fundamental Limitation on the Detectability of Entanglement

Abstract:Entanglement detection is essential in quantum information science and quantum many-body physics. It has been proved that entanglement exists almost surely for a random quantum state, while the realizations of effective entanglement criteria usually consume exponential resources, and efficient criteria often perform poorly without prior knowledge. This fact implies a fundamental limit...
