Positivity of the Tangent Bundle of Smooth Projective Surfaces

Abstract

Consider a non-uniruled smooth projective surface S. We establish that the tangent bundle T_S is pseudo-effective if and only if the canonical divisor K_S is nef, and the second Chern class c_2(S) vanishes. Additionally, I will discuss the blow-up of a non-rational ruled surface with a pseudo-effective tangent bundle. This talk is based on a collaborative project with Yongnam Lee and Guolei Zhong.

I am a postdoc at Yau Mathematical Sciences Center, Tsinghua University (mentor: Caucher Birkar). I received my PhD from National University of Singapore (NUS) under the supervision of Professor De-Qi Zhang in April 2023. Before that, I earned my BSc from Zhejiang University (ZJU) in June 2018. My research interests are algebraic geometry, birational geometry.
