2025 Spring Semester

(from Feb. 19, 2025)

Venue:

A513, Shuangqing Complex Building A

Description

The series of seminars aims to achieve two primary objectives: first, to develop a rigorous mathematical understanding of why the formation of singularities becomes generically inevitable under certain conditions; and second, to explore existing approaches for investigating the causal nature of singularities that arise during a gravitational collapse.

Evolution problems for the axially symmetric Einstein-Vlasov system: critical collapse, the Hoop conjecture and the weak cosmic censorship conjecture

AbstractDue to the complexity of the axially symmetric Einstein-Vlasov system there are no analytic results available in the literature for evolution problems except in the case of small initial data. By using numerical methods it is however possible to gain insights for general initial data. In this talk I will briefly discuss the particle in cell (PIC) method that is often used to treat Vlaso...

      QFT in curved spacetime II

AbstractIn the first talk I plan to talk some aspects of classical and quantum information theory to introduce some entropies and their properties, then talk about algebraic formulation of qft (Haag Kastler framework) and ends with Casini's interpretation of Bekenstein bound. In the second talk I plan to revisit a bit of null Ryachaudhuri equation , area theorem and then talk about Wall's proof...
