Title:

Semi-Universal entropy of CFTs at high spin

Abstract:

We argue that the entropy of all d-dimensional conformal field theories (studied on $S^{d-1}$ ) takes a semi-universal scaling form in a suitable high angular momentum limit. We use the AdS/CFT correspondence to test our prediction for strongly coupled N=4 Yang Mills theory, and find that the thermodynamics of this theory simplifies in the predicted manner in this limit, revealing phase transitions between scaling limits of black holes, grey galaxies and the supergravity gas.

On the universal behavior of TTbar-deformed CFTs | Joint HEP-TH Seminar

AbstractThe torus partition function of TTbar-deformed CFTs is modular invariant. Using this fact, it is shown that TTbar-deformed CFTs exhibit a universal free energy in the high temperature limit and a universal spectrum in the high energy limit. In this work, we show that a much stronger form of universality holds in TTbar-deformed CFTs with a large central charge c for both the double and s...

Universal meromorphic functions with slow growth

AbstractI will show a solution to a problem asked by Dinh and Sibony in their open problem list, about minimal growth of universal meromorphic functions. This is joint work with Dinh Tuan Huynh and Zhangchi Chen. If time permits, I will also discuss my recent joint work with my Ph.D. student Bin Guo, about the existence of universal holomorphic functions in several variables with slow growth.Sp...
