Abstract

Moduli spaces of quadratic differentials on Riemann surfaces appear in quite different contexts such as the dynamics of polygonal billiards and spaces of stability conditions. This talk provides an introduction to the geometry of these moduli spaces and compares the state of the art with the knowledge on the classical moduli space of curves.

AbstractTheory of quantum multiplication and Gromov-Witten invariants of a smoothprojective algebraic variety X deals with enumerative questions concerningcurves in X. A long time ago physicists E. Witten, R. Dijkgraaf, E. Verlinde, andH. Polar foliations on symmetric spaces

报告摘要:The notion of polar foliations is a generalization of the concept of polar actions on Riemannian manifolds. In space forms, polar foliations coincide with isoparametric foliations. In general Riemannian manifolds, these two notions are different from each other. This talk will focus on polar foliations in simply connected symmetric spaces with nonnegative curvature. I will describe re...
