Abstract:

Carlos Simpson proved a strong Lefschetz theorem for complex polarized VHS via nonabelian Hodge theory. We give an arithmetic analogue using the p-adic nonabelian Hodge correspondence. This is joint work with R. Krishnamoorthy and J.B. Yang.

Motivic Lefschetz Theorem for twisted Milnor Hypersurfaces

Abstract:In this talk, I will discuss the motivic decomposition of a smooth hyperplane section in twisted Milnor Hypersurfaces. The key feature of our result is the appearance of a spectrum of a particular field in the decomposition. A critical ingredient is in the non-triviality of the (monodromy) Galois action on the equivariant Chow group. The steps of our proof can be likened to several th...

A Noether-Lefschetz type theorem for spectral varieties with applications

AbstractIn this talk, we will discuss spectral variety and related moduli spaces of Higgs pairs on surfaces. We will first introduce the geometry of moduli of Higgs pairs and the spectral varieties. Indeed, we will talk about the Noether-Lefschetz type problems and the Picard schemes of the spectral varieties. If time permits, the Picard group of generic (very general) spectral varieties and it...
