Introduction：This is a mini lecture on 4-manifold theory. It will cover topics in 4-dimensional topology including: handlebodies of smooth 4-manifolds, constructing exotic 4-manifolds and exotic surfaces, fundamental pieces of 4-manifolds (corks, anticorks and plugs) , slice genus and shake slice genus. Several important conjectures will also be discussed
