讲座提要：

I will review the development of classical mechanics from its' roots in Ancient Greece and follow its' course through the modern era and the scientific revolution to the current formulation due to Euler and Lagrange culmination. I also give a brief outlook on the developements in the 20th centurty leading to the formulation of quantum mechanics.
