Abstract

We prove a topological version of abelian duality where the gauge groups are finite abelian. The theories are finite homotopy TFTs, topological analogues of the p-form U(1) gauge theories and a generalization of abelian Dijkgraaf-Witten theories. We extend such duality to a subset of higher-group symmetries, which goes by the name of π-finite spectra. Furthermore, I will discuss the relation between this duality and gauging/ungauging in 2, 3 dimensions.

PrerequisiteAbstract Algebra, Number Field ThoeryAbstractAlgebraic Function thoery involves the study of the field extensions of transcendental degree one. In algebraic geometry, a function field correspondences to the function field of some algebraic curve. In number theory, a function field will play a role similar to that of a finite extension of the field of rational numbers. Also, the theo...

  • [BIMSA String Group Journal Club] Quantum entanglement meets topological field theory: an introduction for pedestrians

摘要Entanglement is a feature of quantum mechanics, which remains mysterious for quantum field theories. However, a physical toy model called topological field theory does not fall far away from quantum mechanics. In this talk, elementary concept of above is introduced, and slightly entangled
