Abstract

Based on spacetime emergence from quantum entanglement, a new complex-valued quantum information measure will be introduced. This quantity will be defined through either the Wick rotation of space to timelike subregions or through the Wick rotation of the coordinates. We argue that this quantity is an example of pseudo-entanglement entropy. For holographic states, we define the timelike entanglement entropy as the total complex valued area of a particular stationary combination of both space and timelike extremal surfaces which are homologous to the boundary subregion. We find an explicit matching of our optimization procedure and the careful implementation of the Wick rotation in the boundary CFT in the considered examples. Finally, a relation between this quantity and holographic pseudo entropy in de Sitter space will be addressed.

Speaker Intro

I finished my graduate studies at Sharif University and IPM in Tehran in 2015. I held a postdoctoral associate position at IPM from 2015-2018. Afterward, I moved to Max-Planck Institute for Physics as an Alexander Humboldt fellow until late 2020. As my third postdoc, I moved to Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics at Kyoto University. I will join the School of Physics of IPM as a junior faculty from fall 2023. I am mainly interested in the interface between quantum field theory, quantum gravity, and quantum information theory.
