Abstract

In this talk, we explore the anomalous dispersive relations, inverse scattering transform, and fractional N-soliton solutions of the integrable fractional higher-order nonlinear Schrödinger equations. The inverse scattering problem can be solved exactly by means of the matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem with simple poles. As a consequence, an explicit formula is found for the fractional N-soliton solutions in the reflectionless case.

  • On properties of solutions to fractional and higher order systems

AbstractIn this talk, we introduce some recent results on properties of solutions to fractional and higher order systems. For instance, the classification of solutions to conformally invariant systems with mixed order and exponentially increasing or nonlocal nonlinearity, and the uniform a priori estimates for positive solutions to the n-th order superlinear Lane-Emden system in bounded domains...

  • A new approach to the nonlinear Schrödinger equation

AbstractWith collaborators Jesse Gell-Redman and Sean Gomes, we have begun to set up an entirely new framework for tackling the linear and nonlinear Schrödinger equation. I will describe this setup and explain why I believe it is a more powerful framework than existing approaches for studying nonlinear scattering and soliton dynamics.SpeakerI am currently a Professor and Associate Director of R...
