Abstract

The work of Kervaire and Milnor reduces the classification of homotopy spheres in dimension atleast 5 to the problem of computing stable homotopy groups of spheres and their Kervaireinvariants. We will give an introduction to the recent developments in homotopy theory which leadsto the solution of the Kervaire invariant one problem and classification of homotopy spheres up toaround dimension 170.

AbstractPersistent homology provides essential topological insights into datasets, representing eachtopological feature with an interval whose length, known as the feature's lifetime, represents itspersistence. Features with short lifetimes are typically regarded as noise, while those with longellifetimes are considered meaningful characteristics of the dataset. We introduce a novel filteringme...

  • Some classical features of the Links-Gould invariants of links | BIMSA Topology Seminar

AbstractFor a long time, the Alexander polynomial was the main easily computable link invariant to be knownBut in 1984, Jones discovered his well known polynomial link invariant, and that gave birth to the vasitheory of quantum link invariants. However, unlike for the Alexander invariant, it is in general hard todeduce precise topological properties on a knot or link from the value quantum inva...
