Abstract

In this talk, I will survey the results on the study of cycles on Shimura varieties of orthogonal type and unitary type. I will explain how to use the automorphic representation theory to prove the low degree Hodge conjecture on those Shimura varieties. I will also mention the applications on the study of cohomolology group of certain moduli spaces.
