Abstract

To study the role of the biosphere in the Anthropocene, it is crucial to represent both natural and agricultural ecosystems in a single, internally consistent modelling framework. The model LPJmL ("Lund-Potsdam-Jena managed Land") is designed to simulate vegetation composition and distribution as well as stocks and land-atmosphere exchange flows of carbon and water, for both natural and agricultural ecosystems. Using a combination of plant physiological relations, generalized empirically established functions and plant trait parameters, it simulates processes such as photosynthesis, plant growth, maintenance and regeneration losses, fire disturbance, soil moisture, runoff, evapotranspiration, irrigation and vegetation structure. In this talk, we will try to simulate the soil heat equation and water stress function using quantum software.

AbstractThis talk aims to present applications of common mathematical models in permafrost research based on our research experience. (1) Permafrost distribution model (active layer thickness and mean annual ground temperature); (2) Unfrozen water content calculation models; (3) Thermal disturbance of improved cemented frozen soil; (4) Hydro-thermal-salinity coupling model.Speaker IntroMingtang...

The six-vertex model on random graphs | Integrable System Lunch Seminar

AbstractI will explain how to reformulate the 6v model on dynamical random lattices as an NxN matrixmodel. The spectral curve of the 6v matrix model at large N is an infinite envelope of a two-dimensional torus. An explicit global parametrisation is found by eliptic theta functions. The scalinglimit where the size of the lattices diverge is achieved when the torus degenerates into an infinitecy...
