Abstract

In this talk, we will introduce the canonical cell decomposition of Teichmuller space established by Ushijima, and compare the face relations to our own work on discrete conformal mapping. Then we will calculate several generalized Ptolemy equations on a hyperbolic surface. Finally, we will discuss some open problems on parameterization of Teichmuller space in order to make the face relations linear.

Cohomology theory on discrete sets and digraphs

AbstractThe classical differential calculus of a higher order is provided by the graded algebra of differential forms on a smooth manifold with the operation of exterior differentiation. Our interest to this notion was motivated by a desire to develop a calculus of differential forms on discrete objects. As a rule, the role of discrete objects is played by discrete sets with additional relation...

What is a Discrete Painlevé Equation?

Speaker: Anton Dzhamay (BIMSA)Time: 17:00-17:45, 2024-12-02Venue: A6-1Zoom: 388 528 9728Password: BIMSAAbstractMany interesting examples of integrable systems can be studied from the geometric point of view. One such recent example is a class of non-autonomous discrete dynamical systems known as discrete Painlevé equations whose role in a wide range of problems in mathematical physics has been...
