Abstract

In this paper, we consider a litle-studied observable in classical pure AdS, gravity: the twist alonga geodesic. The motivation is that the twist only supports on the geodesic and may be a candidateelement in the center. We study the properties of the twist and get the following results. First, weget the system's evolution generated by the twist, which exhibits a relative shift along the geodesicSecond, we show that the twist commutes with the length of the same geodesic, which supports theproposal that the twist is a candidate element in the center.

The tale of three scales in quantum gravity | BlMSA-Tsinghua String Seminar

AbstractQuantum gravity has a natural cutoff given by the Planck scale. However, the EFT of quantumgravity can break down at a lower scale known as the species scale, which is when highercurvature corrections become important. Additionally, there is a third scale which marks the inverselength (or the temperature) of the smallest black hole where the EFT gives a correct description ofits entropy...

String, Geometry Seminar at BIMSA | Extremal surfaces in glue-on AdS/TTbar holography

AbstractTTbar is a solvable irrelevant deformation that leads to interesting properties such as nonlocality. When applied to a CFT, the effects of TTbar can be studied via cutoff and glue-on holography. In this talk, we will first introduce the glue-on geometry, which reveals many interesting features of TTbar deformed CFTs that were previously inaccessible through cutoff holography. We then in...
