Abstract:

The weighted extremal Kähler metrics introduced by Lahdili provide a vast generalisation of Calabi's extremal Kähler metrics, encompassing many examples of canonical metrics in geometry. In this talk, I will give a quick introduction to these metrics, and discuss the proof that weighted extremal manifolds are relatively weighted K-polystable, in a suitable sense. The proof is along the lines of Stoppa--Szekelyhidi's argument that an extremal polarised manifold is relatively K-polystable, which in particular exploits the existence of an extremal metric on the blowup of an extremal manifold at a suitable point.

Homotopy of manifolds through a cubic method

AbstractIn several occasions, I have talked about some recent progresses on the unstable homotopy of manifolds made by Stephen Theriault and myself. But no details of the proof were presented. In this homotopy seminar talk, I would like to focus on one work in this project, that is, the loop homotopy decomposition of manifolds stabilized by projective spaces. We may work out some proofs togethe...

String, Geometry Seminar at BIMSA | Extremal surfaces in glue-on AdS/TTbar holography

AbstractTTbar is a solvable irrelevant deformation that leads to interesting properties such as nonlocality. When applied to a CFT, the effects of TTbar can be studied via cutoff and glue-on holography. In this talk, we will first introduce the glue-on geometry, which reveals many interesting features of TTbar deformed CFTs that were previously inaccessible through cutoff holography. We then in...
