Title:

Torsors of the Jacobians of the generic Fermat curves

Abstract

Let C/S be the universal family of degree m (m>3) Fermat curve. Then A=Pic^0_{C/S} is an abelian scheme over S. We show that: (1) All torsors of A/S are of the form Pic^d_{C/S}. (2) Passing to the function field, there are uncountably many non-isomorphic torsors of A_k(S). Finally we discuss some partial results on extending the result to M_g.

About the SeminarThis seminar centered loosely around algebraic dynamics, complex dynamics, and related topics. We meet weekly for a 90-minute talk, with the first 30 minutes aiming towards non-experts and graduate students. After the talk we will have 30 minutes of informal discussion.More information about the seminar can be found at:https://ywfan-math.github.io/ADCD.html AbstractLet f be hol...

  • Genetic introduction in a proof of the Super Fermat Equation and beyond

AbstractThe purpose of the lecture series is to provide a comprehensive development of the basic mathematical tools used in the proof of the Super Fermat equation having no integer solutions. The equation is(1) (x^p+y^p)/(x+y) = p^e z^p; e = 0 if p does not divide z, and 1 otherwise; p >3 and (x, y, z) = 1. This generalizes and implies Fermat's Last Theorem. Along the line, we also review some ...
