Title:

Dihedral cone spherical metrics and measured foliations

Abstract:

The study of cone spherical metrics traces back to the uniformization problem of Riemann surfaces by Picard and Poincare. This topic has continued to captivate researchers across fields in recent decades. In this talk, we focus on a special subclass called dihedral metrics, which are characterized by their monodromy groups. By utilizing measured foliations, we obtain a picture of their geometric decomposition and deformation. As an application, we compute the dimension of the moduli space for dihedral metrics with prescribed cone angles on a compact topological surface. This is a joint work with Bin Xu.
