Title:
New Aspects of 3D Chern-Simons Theory and Axelrod-Singer Constructions
Abstract:
This talk is about defining consistent and covariant quantum field theories associated with classical three-dimensional Chern-Simons theory, obtained from Q-exact second-order supersymmetric actions. The introduction of additional fields required for these constructions leads to classes of quantum field theories that localize field configurations related to the constraints associated to the Chern-Simons equations of motion. This extended framework provides, in particular, a systematic way to incorporate the enlarged field spectrum required in the Axelrod-Singer construction, allowing for a local off-shell definition of the framing needed to compute Wilson loop expectation values in a consistent manner.
